We’re delighted that our new greenspace is now complete! We hope our tenants, visitors – and local bees – enjoy spending time in it.

Local landscaper, Water Gems, who designed and implemented the work, have provided more information about what has been planted and why…

  • Long season interest, that will come back year after year. Plants need to earn their keep in the Scottish climate, so the longer the season of interest a plant can provide, the more beneficial for people and wildlife they will be.
  • Plants that will tolerate the soil, aspect, and light conditions on site. Tones and textures to give continuity across the space
  • Smaller growing specimen trees to add structure, and frame the seating area, and boundaries.
  • Medium sized growing trees that will give spring flowers and autumn foliage.
  • Mix of long flowering perennials and grasses, to provide interest for garden visitors, and a food resource for local biodiversity. These plants can also be a teaching aid for propagation.
  • Colour tones of blues, reds, mauves, orange and rich greens.
